here are some resources for you!

want vinyl? then you need to know about zenith! they are located somewhere in melbourne and for 100 12" records you're looking at around $3000. but its less for 7"'s.

there is also this place acoustic weaponry can't vouch for them but their prices look alright

a company i can vouch for is king worldwide - also known as peter king lathes. their usual website doesn't seem to be working so you'll need to go here for more information. there's also some info here

vinyl factory are worth further investigation, they offer fast turnaround and are located in sydney. go here

aaand thats pretty much it for vinyl in australia and new zealand. :S

the year is almost over so i have been thinking about what things i want to focus on next year - my top 3 goals for us as noise generation next year are:

* release a vinyl ep
* get some tracks on the radio (4zzz im looking at you)
* play some shows

rata is presently remastering tracks we recorded this year to compile on a cd called 2009. if you want one let me know and i might send you one!

its already november and i havent written anything since october first! yikes! that feels bad, but i have actually had not very much noise generation related stuff to write about. have had no internet for the last week also so i thought i should post something now that i am back online and get back into the swing of it!

i realised recently that i never mentioned that we saw gza a little while ago at the hifi bar in west end. since i dont have anything good to say i guess i will just say that hifi is a really weird venue.

was informed today that lazy grey & bias b's dual album launch is this weekend @ the step inn. would very much like to attend but looking unlikely as finances are a bit stetched at the moment. bummer. i know its not who they are anymore but brothers stoney to me are like the original best australian hip hop.

we have plans to do an extremely limited vinyl release! mainly just for us so we can have our music to spin on vinyl. this is pretty cool, we have been wanting to do a vinyl release for ages, plus looking forward to doing some serious writing and recording.

out loud music @ west end

yeah so we did go and rehearse at out loud music at west end last friday (its the old cold rooms). it was pretty awesome - nice big room, "mood" lighting, good pa, big mirror to practice your jazz hands in. i suspect that it is in fact a two way mirror and there are people SPYING on the other side! rata completely disagrees with this theory by the way, but i am convinced. we went during the day on a friday - early morning actually, 10am-12pm so there weren't a lot of other rooms in use, so i can say we didn't have any issues with noise bleed from the other bands rehearsing. but if the place was full it might be a different story :dont know: anyway $30 for 2 hours is pretty decent and seems to be just about the going rate at the moment in brisbane. their website has a lot of photos of them with a cute little dog and various famous bands that have rehearsed there ie. the veronicas lol. i must say that i was looking forward to meeting the dog which is why i was dissapointed when i asked where he was and was told he is GONE! the dog was the previous owners dog :( so i guess they need to update their website! anyway, the final word on out loud at west end is - good room, good pa, good service, no dog :( 4 out of 5 stars. could gain the extra star by getting a dog - preferably a pug :) oh and the bus stops right out the front AND there is a little cafe right next door that makes the most amazing mini cupcakes and something called an ORANGE BLOSSOM! awesome!

we practiced at via on saturday and i took a bunch of photos and rata has spliced and edited a couple of the photos into 1 photo! thinking about making a stop motion film clip for one of our new tracks using only photos! just feel a bit overwhelmed by the task of having to take like a thousand good useable photos! honestly i'm not sure i have the mad skills for it - but as always im def willing to give it a go so expect to see a new video sometime in the near future! yay!

after using the shure mic neither of us wanted to go back to the crappy 'yoga' mic that we have been using for about 3 years. we didnt even buy it, it was left behind by previous tenants at a place we moved into in wellington and we managed to grab it before any of the other housemates saw it! WOW i guess i never knew the importance of a good mic because when you compare the sound of our crappy old one to the new shure mic you can hear the difference loud and clear LITERALLY! it really is amazing. anyway so what i am getting at is that we totally caved in and ordered another one - HOW EXTRAVAGANT OF US! it should get here tomorrow. then we are going to book in for rehearsal at out loud music in west end. i know i thought that we were gonna stick with via at bowen hills but we remembered going to this place a few years ago (when it was probably called something else) so we thought we would give them a go. also we like to rehearse during the day on week days and via aint open during the day on week days and this place is. so we will probably practice there maybe wednesday or thursday if they're not booked out. and if i have managed to shake this flu that is really bringing me down. i hate being sick. plz everybody send me good healing energies. thnkyou! ^-^

this just arrived in the mail! probably the only brand new mic i've ever used!!! its the cheapest shure mic that you can buy but it still sounds amazing!

we practiced at Via last week. its been about 5 years since our last rehearsal there. a few changes, pretty much the same. still a great, super cheap rehearsal place! $15 for 1 hour, $45 for 4 hours. we wanted to go to the valley studios because its walking distance / short bus ride from here but i found out they are about $80 for 4 hours. madness! anyway via is so nice and clean and the rooms have good air con (not that we used it but it will be good in summer which im sure is just around the corner) so i guess thats gonna be our regular rehearsal place. yay 1 problem solved! only 50billion more to go!

recorded a new track today...... its being mixed and mastered in the noisebox mastering studio AS WE SPEAK! i will probably get to upload it sometime tonight. are you on twitter? hey so am i so you can check my thing out at my username is @kikiromantik. probably a lot of non noisegen band related stuff but thats ok right? rata has been busy making stuff - check out his awesome diy pop screen.... it works a treat and saved $59.95 - HEAR THAT ALLANS MUSIC?????

now that we are back in brisbane i have a major urge to go to DREAMWORLD. is the gravitron still there???
